Weibo recommendation | Today's Weibo Hot Topic According to Mr. Xin, he was scammed by a job intermediary when he came to Beijing looking for work. On the night of the incident, he went to an ATM machine near Zhao Gongkou to withdraw money to go home but failed to do so as his card balance was less than 100 yuan. By this time, the bank had already closed. At a loss, he started chatting with Mr. Gao who was sitting on the steps of the bank. The two discovered that they had similar experiences, both having been almost destitute after being scammed while looking for jobs.
According to Mr. Xin's confession, the reason they chose Ms. Li was because her backpack caught their attention, and they felt she looked wealthy based on her "aura." There were other single women passing by earlier, but neither of them thought these women had money based on their clothing, so they did not act.
Claiming that they were scammed while looking for jobs in Beijing and robbed just to gather enough money for travel expenses, it was revealed that before the incident, they had already decided to resign and return to their hometowns for work.
The court ruled that there was no evidence to confirm whether the two defendants were indeed scammed prior to committing the robbery, and even if they were, being scammed could not be used as a justification for committing the crime of robbery, nor could it serve as a reason for leniency. Based on this, the court made the aforementioned ruling.
