Chutian Metropolis Daily (Weibo) - A special correspondent Du Qing, and reporters Li Xin and Fu Wei reported that a man with a steel bead pistol robbed a police car. When the police gathered forces to surround and capture him, he actually held a kitchen knife to successively hijack multiple sedans and injured many people. It was learned yesterday from the Dàwù police that a 24-year-old youth named Deng from Chengguan Town was criminally detained for his violent actions.

Deng was unable to start the police car, and during a robbery at a wedding scene involving three people which resulted in one death and three injuries, he jumped onto the hood of the police car and wildly kicked the windshield. At this moment, his uncle arrived driving a sedan to persuade him, but Deng pushed his uncle aside and forcibly drove off in his uncle's car.

When Deng drove to the entrance of Dawu People's Hospital, he collided with an oncoming car, causing traffic congestion on the road. Deng abandoned the car, entered a nearby eatery, seized a kitchen knife, and ran into the street where he held up a parked sedan by the roadside. After driving about 50 meters, due to the traffic jam ahead, he could no longer proceed. Deng then got out of the car, jumped onto the hood of a taxi, broke the front windshield with his feet, and began wildly chopping the body of the car with his knife.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Deng lost emotional control due to family matters in the afternoon and attacked people on the street. His family chased after him by car. In order to escape quickly, Deng used a gun to hijack the police car. During the attack, Deng slashed three civilians with the knife and damaged or crashed four cars.

Subsequently, Deng raised the kitchen knife and slashed at pedestrians on the side of the road. The surrounding crowd fled in panic. As Deng pursued and attempted to slash a pedestrian, the patrolling riot police who had been chasing him finally subdued him.

On the 19th day of last month at 4 PM, female criminal investigator Officer Wu Min from Dawu was driving her police car along Jianxin Street when she noticed a fallen motorcycle in the middle of the road causing a traffic jam. She stopped her car to handle the situation. Just as she opened the door, Deng suddenly rushed over, holding a pistol pointed at her head, forcing her out of the car. As Wu Min exited the vehicle, she secretly pulled out the key. As Deng was getting into the car, Wu Min quickly ran to a nearby house to call for help. The Dawu Public Security Bureau swiftly mobilized more than 50 officers to surround and capture Deng.
