Share to: Comments welcome I want to comment Yesterday, when the reporter arrived at the elderly couple's home, the family had already arranged the funeral for the deceased grandmother. The whole family was in deep sorrow. The police posted photos of single policemen on their microblog for matchmaking (picture), and the neighbors all felt very sorry. "They were preparing to make steamed buns for dinner. Because they couldn't read, they put the pesticide in by mistake. After eating it, my sister (the grandmother) fell down," said a relative of the elderly couple.
According to reports, at around 8 p.m. on the 29th, 82-year-old grandmother Chen died after unsuccessful resuscitation. Her 83-year-old husband, Mr. Yin, is still being treated in the intensive care unit and has not yet escaped life-threatening danger.
Currently, the police have started an investigation. Not long after consuming the poisoned buns, both elders fainted and were then sent to the hospital for treatment together with nearby villagers.
According to nearby residents, although both elders were over eighty years old, they were still very healthy and often worked together in the fields. Around 5 p.m. on November 29, in the Zhao Hall Village of Lou Tang Town in Jiading District, an elderly couple in their eighties mistakenly used powdered pesticide as baking powder while making steamed buns at home because they could not read. After eating the buns, the couple felt unwell and were immediately sent to the Jiading District Central Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the grandmother passed away, and her husband is still under emergency treatment.
The incident occurred in a rural household in Zhao Hall Village, Lou Tang Town, Jiading District. According to the family of the elderly couple, on the day of the incident, the two elders intended to use flour to ferment and make steamed buns themselves. However, due to their illiteracy, they mistakenly mixed white powdered pesticide placed nearby as baking powder into the dough for fermentation.
