Apple Applies for Keyboard Patent, Hangzhou Ant Moving Company

Sina Technology, February 24th evening (Beijing Time) - Apple has recently filed a patent application. This technology will significantly reduce the size of keyboards, thereby providing conditions for developing lighter and more portable devices.

Apple's technology is called "Single Support Lever Keyboard Mechanism". The biggest feature of this technology is that it can reduce the volume of the keyboard without affecting its performance.

In the document, Apple stated that for manufacturers who want to design thinner, lighter, and more attractive computing devices, the current size of keyboards has become a major challenge. However, with this new keyboard technology, these problems can be solved effortlessly.

Currently, whether it is a regular keyboard, a capacitive keyboard, a mechanical keyboard, a membrane keyboard, or a flexible keyboard, each has its own advantages and disadvantages in the following two aspects: 1) Response - the feeling after the key is pressed; 2) Key travel - the distance the key is pressed.

Apple's new keyboard technology can also solve these two problems. The keycap can almost be made from any material while maintaining a good feel, with a key travel of only 0.2 millimeters.

In the application document, Apple stated: "One of the advantages of this technology is that the short key travel allows manufacturers to produce thinner computing devices without affecting the feel." (Liming)
