On the afternoon of February 10th, at around 15:00, Zhang's brother reported that on February 7th, his entire family was informed that his sister Zhang, who was married and lived in Xingshui Village, Wufu Township, Jingta County, had gone missing after allegedly jumping into a river. Due to the suspicious nature of the incident, he requested an investigation.
Faced with overwhelming evidence, Tang eventually broke down and confessed to deceiving his wife Zhang under the pretense of going for a stroll, pushing her into the Yellow River when she wasn't paying attention, and then lying about her committing suicide by jumping into the river.
After receiving the report, the Jingta County Public Security Bureau immediately dispatched investigators to conduct an investigation and legally summoned Zhang's husband Tang for questioning. According to Tang's initial statement, on February 7th, while wandering by the Yellow River with his wife Zhang, she jumped into the river and he was unable to save her. He called relatives and friends to help search but was unsuccessful. During the trial process, the investigators noticed inconsistencies and contradictions in Tang's statements, prompting further investigations.
Through extensive inquiries and investigations, the investigators learned that Tang had suspected his wife Zhang of having an affair, leading to multiple arguments and periods of separation between the couple. Their relationship was strained, and Tang had requested a divorce, which Zhang refused.
Currently, the suspect Tang has been criminally detained by the Jingta County Public Security Bureau, and the case is still under further review.
On February 14th, according to Cui Lin from China News Service in Lanzhou, a man surnamed Tang from Jingta County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, pushed his wife Zhang into the Yellow River after luring her there under the pretext of going for a walk, due to suspicions of her infidelity. He then falsely claimed that Zhang had committed suicide by jumping into the river. This intentional homicide case has now been successfully solved, as confirmed by the Jingta County Public Security Bureau of Baiyin City on February 14th.
