Our reporter (reporter Han Dapeng, intern reporter Chen He) At 7:30 PM the other night, nearly a hundred parents brought their children, holding tickets and gathered at the Qinglan Theater, ready to watch a concert. After waiting for a long time, they were informed that there was no performance scheduled for that day, which caused much dissatisfaction among the crowd.
Mr. Chu, one of the audience members, introduced that not long ago, he purchased two tickets for the "Oriental Century Journey - Century Style Concert" from the Capital Ticketing Network. By 7:30 PM the other night, many parents and children were still waiting outside the theater, only to be informed by the staff that there would be no performance that day. At 8:30 PM the other night, several spectators were still outside the Qinglan Building demanding an explanation. The ticket clearly indicated that the concert was scheduled for 7:30 PM on January 26th at the Qinglan Theater inside the Qinglan Building in Dongcheng District.
The theater staff explained that they had received notice earlier that the first performance of the concert was set for February 2nd. "Why it doesn't match the date on the ticket, we don't know either." After negotiation, the theater ultimately agreed to refund the tickets or change the dates.
Yesterday, our reporters repeatedly called the organizer of the concert, China Oriental Performing Arts Group, but were unable to get through. On major and legitimate ticketing websites such as Capital Ticketing Network, MaiTian Tickets, and China Performance Ticketing Network, the webpage for purchasing tickets for this concert was still available, and normal ticket purchases could be made.
A relevant person in charge of the Capital Ticketing Network stated that they would verify this matter. If the situation is true, consumers can return the tickets through the website procedure or go directly to the theater to return the tickets. Similar situations have occurred before, usually due to issues with performers or too few audiences leading to the cancellation of performances. By last night, some ticketing websites had already removed the concert's ticket purchase information.
