Donggui, also known as Dongao Big Yang and Jumei, is the largest variety of waxberry in terms of fruit size both domestically and internationally. It was originally produced in Huangyan, Zhejiang, and ripens in early July. It was selected by Zhejiang Agricultural University and Chengjiang District Citrus Extension Station from local late-maturing excellent varieties.
The fruit color is purple red, with a single fruit weight of 24.7g and the largest fruit weighing 51.2g. The taste is sweet and sour, making it very palatable, with superior quality. It contains 13.4% soluble solids and 92.8% edible portion, which refers to Xianju waxberry. The tree has a relatively strong growth momentum, with relatively sparse branches and strong wind resistance. It has high and stable yields, suitable for fresh consumption.
