Problem: When a person walks into a deep hole with no exit, what should they do? Answer: Go along the road from the entrance back out of the hole. When trouble arises, it's not as if we consciously start walking into a deep hole, getting deeper and darker. However, we journey on believing that if we continue to dig down, we will find the exit, the results becoming deeper and deeper, farther and farther. We ignore the fact that the entrance can also be an exit. As long as we realize that we haven't already gone too far into the hole, then slowly backtrack along the way, and you can get out of the hole. What's important is recognizing that the hole is where we are now, not further into the future. And the most terrible thing is that often we fall into holes dug by our own past. Simply put: these are self-inflicted troubles. (Editor: Angel)
