On February 6, 2012, Schneider Electric's safety door switches were once again recognized within the industry for its commitment to sustainability: ranked 26th in the "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations" list announced on January 25 in Davos, Switzerland by Corporate Knights magazine. In this evaluation, Schneider Electric’s Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) demonstrated leading levels of progress in the field of sustainable development. Among the eight French companies that made it into the global top 100, Schneider Electric ranked in the top three.

In the eighth edition of the ranking published by Corporate Knights, a Canadian magazine focused on clean capitalism, the Global 100 included companies from 22 countries and covered all economic sectors. The total revenue of the 100 companies exceeded $3 trillion, with over 5 million employees.

Gilles Vermot Desroches, Senior Vice President of Sustainability at Schneider Electric, stated: "Schneider Electric’s ranking in the 'Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations' is an affirmation and encouragement of our commitment to sustainability. This is based on a deep understanding of the interests of the entire world and innovative ways to solve problems, which benefits not only our customers but also the entire world, allowing all our stakeholders to gain advantages."

Schneider Electric's inclusion in this list of top 100 global companies marks widespread recognition in the industry of its integration of sustainable development into its core strategy. On one hand, through energy-efficient solutions, it promotes the production of clean energy and establishes consumption habits that respect and protect the environment. It also takes dynamic corporate social responsibility actions, represented by its "Planet & Society Barometer," which regularly publishes key progress in all aspects of sustainability every quarter.

Schneider Electric plans to actively implement this strategy through the development of smart city and smart grid solutions, the launch of a new set of "Planet & Society Barometers" within the next three years, and an updated commitment from all its employees worldwide, ensuring that sustainability becomes an increasingly important aspect of the group's DNA.

Over the past 25 years since establishing roots in China, the concept of sustainable development has been integrated into all of Schneider Electric's businesses, dedicated to helping Chinese customers achieve energy efficiency and contributing to China's sustainable development. Schneider Electric consistently regards balancing the relationship between the company and society, internal employees, and the natural environment as the foundation of sustainable development. Through projects such as Luli, Blue Wave Plan, and emergency aid, Schneider Electric has donated cash and equipment valued at over RMB 76.6 million to Chinese society, including employee donations exceeding RMB 8 million. A recent successful implementation, the "Xinjiang Off-Grid Photovoltaic Power Aid Project for Unpowered Villages," provided safe and clean electricity to residents in unpowered areas of China through an overall solar power generation solution.

On January 17, Schneider Electric also received the Achievement Award in the "Large Enterprise" category of the Zayed Future Energy Prize (ZFEP 2012) at the Abu Dhabi World Future Energy Summit.
