At around 2:30 PM yesterday, the fast boat No.3 of the city ferry company was carrying passengers from the Wuhan Customs Ferry Pier to the Zhonghua Road Ferry Pier. When it reached a point one kilometer downstream from the Yangtze River Bridge, ferry employee Shi Jun noticed a man in white clothes not far from the river surface shouting for help. Shi Jun and his colleagues immediately steered the boat closer to the man and pulled him on board. The man refused to disclose his name or family contact information, only stating that he had jumped from the Yangtze River Bridge.

Subsequently, the police contacted his family through the mobile phone left by the man on the Yangtze River Bridge. It was understood that the man's surname is Ding, he is 22 years old, and he is from Suizhou. However, the specific reasons for his attempted suicide by jumping off the bridge are currently unknown.

At this time, the police officers of the Water Division of the Municipal Public Security Bureau had already received the alarm and were searching on the river surface. Upon learning the situation, they immediately headed to the Zhonghua Road Pier and quickly contacted the 120 emergency medical personnel. As soon as the fast boat docked at the pier, the police officers from the Bridge Police Station and the 120 emergency personnel carried the injured person ashore and rushed him to the Third Hospital for treatment. After preliminary examination by the medical staff, the man was out of danger, but he still needed to be hospitalized for observation for some time.
