With the rapid development of China's economy and the increasing demand for the import market, during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, China will accelerate the transformation of its economic development model, adhering to both imports and exports equally, actively promoting and expanding imports, further reducing trade surpluses, promoting basic balance of international payments and balanced development of foreign trade. Under this macro background, the China International Import Product Fair co-hosted by the China International Chamber of Commerce and the Jiangsu Provincial Government will be grandly held in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province from March 29 to 31, 2012.

The China International Import Product Fair is closely organized around advanced technologies, key equipment, and emerging industries that China plans to focus on introducing during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, setting up four specialized exhibition areas including New Technology Equipment Zone, Information Technology Zone, Environmental Protection Equipment New Materials and Other High-Tech Zones, Brand Consumer Goods Zone.

As a national-level professional import exhibition in China, the China International Import Product Fair has received strong support from more than forty overseas trade promotion organizations and business associations and active participation from overseas enterprises. Currently, nearly 600 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions including the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Japan, South Korea, Australia have confirmed their participation, with an exhibition area reaching 50,000 square meters.

The exhibition has attracted world-renowned companies such as Haas from the United States, Tyco from the United States, BASF from Germany, Siemens from Germany, ABB Group from Switzerland, Mitsubishi from Japan, Toyota Tsusho from Japan, Samsung from South Korea, and industry leaders such as AGCO from the United States, Leis from Germany, Oerlikon from Switzerland, Fiat from Italy, Danieli from Italy. Additionally, government delegations from more than ten regions including Ontario in Canada, Limburg in Belgium, Baden-Wuerttemberg in Germany, Essex in the UK, Victoria in Australia, Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan, Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan, Aichi Prefecture in Japan, Malacca State in Malaysia will also come to participate.

Exhibitors will display high-end machinery equipment, IT and automation control systems, new energy, environmental protection new materials and other leading-edge high-tech products in various fields including precision grinding machines, advanced CNC machine tools, high-speed high-performance milling machines, punching machines, machining centers, industrial robots, mechanical arms, textile machinery, agricultural machinery, medical devices, aviation industrial equipment, metallurgical machinery, mechanical parts, etc.; precision transmission components, automated welding technology, automated clamping systems, machine vision systems, electronic products, information technology, LED, connectors, etc.; environmental protection equipment, intelligent garbage disposal systems, water treatment systems, solar technology, wind turbines, photovoltaic modules, underfloor heating, various wear-resistant materials, polyester materials, etc. Additionally, home appliances, food, alcohol, jewelry, imported cars and other consumer goods will also be exhibited.

During the fair, a series of supporting activities will be organized. First is the Asia-Pacific Chamber of Commerce Conference with the theme "Exporting to China," inviting representatives of national committees of international chambers of commerce in the Asia-Pacific region, representatives of chambers of commerce and enterprises in the Asia-Pacific region, and representatives of chambers of commerce and enterprises from other parts of the world to discuss topics related to trade and commercial development in the Asia-Pacific region and the impact of China's expanded imports on the Asia-Pacific region. The conference will also hold a cooperation对接session between Chinese and foreign chambers of commerce, inviting chambers of commerce participating in the Asia-Pacific Chamber of Commerce Conference who wish to cooperate with chambers of commerce from other countries to communicate face-to-face, seek cooperation opportunities, and promote exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign chambers of commerce. Second is the Fourth International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Asia-Pacific Regional Annual Meeting, one of the five major regional meetings held by the International Chamber of Commerce, being held in China for the first time. Representatives from 16 member countries (regions) of the International Chamber of Commerce in the Asia-Pacific region will attend the meeting. The meeting will also host the Asia-Pacific Business Development Conference. Third is the Forum on Expanding Imports and Balanced Trade Development, inviting relevant department leaders from the Ministry of Commerce, General Administration of Customs, State Administration of Foreign Exchange, and economic experts from Bank of China/Export-Import Bank to deeply interpret policies, information, and measures related to expanding imports during China's "12th Five-Year Plan" period for China's foreign trade production enterprises. Fourth is a series of new product and new technology release events, promoting foreign advanced new technologies and products to help exhibitors find Chinese partners.
