Our staff reporter Liu Wei - Four men, including Liu Ximing, conspired to impersonate police officers and fined truck drivers under the pretext of "overload control." It was reported yesterday that the No. 2 Intermediate People's Court of the city finally sentenced them to terms ranging from one and a half years in prison to probation for the crime of impersonating officials.

Liu Ximing, Wang Yihua, and two others worked at logistics and property management companies before their arrest.

Early last year, Liu Ximing and Wang Yihua plotted to impersonate police officers near the Majuqiao toll station to fine truck drivers under the guise of "overload control." During this period, they had clear divisions of labor; Wang Yihua provided counterfeit traffic police uniforms, hats, and reflective vests, while Liu Ximing was responsible for finding people to keep watch and provide chauffeur services. Between April and May last year, Liu Ximing gathered Sang Zhibing, Bai Shuqi, and others, committing six offenses and obtaining over 5000 yuan in illegal proceeds. In May last year, the police successively captured Liu Ximing and his accomplices.

After deliberation, the court sentenced Wang Yihua to one and a half years in prison for impersonating an official; Liu Ximing to one year in prison; Sang Zhibing to eight months in prison with one year of probation; and Bai Shuqi to six months in prison with one year of probation. (Editor: SN021)
