("Editor: SN017") "We originally planned to take our granddaughter to the zoo." Grandma Li told the reporter that at around 9:30 am, she and her husband took their 9-year-old granddaughter from the Tuandao starting station onto bus No. 220. Grandpa Guo, Grandma Li's husband, said, "When the bus reached near Little West Lake, she suddenly collapsed on the bus."
Bus driver Zhang Li of route 220 introduced, "When the bus reached Little West Lake, there were over 30 passengers on board, when suddenly a 'thud' was heard, and someone had fallen down." She quickly dialed 120 for help, but the staff member who answered the phone told her that the ambulance would not be able to arrive quickly in that area. "As soon as I heard that, I got anxious and told the other passengers on the bus, 'Let's save this person! I'll drive the bus to take the patient to the hospital,' and all the passengers on the bus agreed. I turned the bus around and headed back while dialing 110," Zhang Li said. Due to traffic congestion, she kept honking and shouting loudly, and the other drivers were all very cooperative, ultimately allowing her to timely deliver the patient to the hospital.
Grandma Li said that she has long suffered from heart disease, along with relatively severe hypertension. Before leaving home in the morning, she had taken both medications, but still an accident occurred.
On the morning of May 1st at around 10 o'clock, 62-year-old Grandma Li was riding bus No. 220 towards the Little West Lake station when she suddenly had a heart attack and collapsed on the bus. Bus driver Zhang Li quickly drove the bus directly to Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital, where the elderly woman was ultimately saved from danger.
In the afternoon of May 1st, when I contacted Grandma Li again, she was already resting at home. Grandpa Guo said that because the danger had temporarily passed, following the doctor's instructions, his wife went home to rest first and would go to the hospital for further examination in a few days. "Thanks to this good-hearted driver!" he said.
