The kitchen was bustling with activity, and despite being busy, my mom still found time to nag at me for knowing how to sleep in and not help out with the chores. Sigh! I couldn't even indulge in a lazy morning, knowing that getting up early on days off was pure torture for me! But what can you do, it's the New Year, so I have to endure it!! Being a kid is great; you get food, drink, new clothes, and red envelopes. Now that I'm older, all I get are endless chores, haha. Nonetheless, at twelve o'clock, I shamelessly bow to the elders and demand my red envelope because in their eyes, I'm still a child!! Haha...
It's truly rare to spend the New Year at home, but it's still very joyful. When I was little, I didn't like staying at home; I preferred running around everywhere. It didn't matter which city, as long as it was far from home. Now that I'm older, it's different. Living away from home leaves an emptiness in my heart, and I just want to come back as soon as possible. Once I'm home, I feel grounded.
During my days at home, I go out every day to play, meet old friends, and search for childhood memories. It's a simple kind of happiness. Everything is so beautiful. My sister and I sit together and realize it's been 13 years. Someone suddenly says, "Jinzhong weather forecast," and I exclaim, "Oh my youth, my colorful seasons have been given to you guys..." Haha, isn't that true? Having such strong sisterly bonds for thirteen years is really something. They say women don't have true friends, but that's not always the case. Thirteen years - how many thirteen-year periods are there in a person's life? From the innocence of youth to becoming elegant young ladies, each of us has grown more beautiful. We've gone through school, graduation, college, work, love, marriage, and childbirth, experiencing all kinds of storms, yet our friendship remains unchanged. When we gather, we chatter and laugh like children, enough to lift the roof. Being with this group of people who share happiness and joy makes one very happy. Even those without boyfriends won't feel lonely because they have their sisters by their side. The bond among this group is very strong, and no one is allowed to disrupt it. Future brothers-in-law or husbands must be able to fit into our circle or else... we're not easy to please!
Alright, after all this rambling, let me say something important: On New Year's Eve, YaYa wishes everyone a Happy New Year!!
May everyone be safe and sound, reunite happily.
Happy New Year, full of new prospects, and may the Year of the Ox bring you plenty of energy!! Happy New Year!!
