According to reports, residents of Harbin are witnessing a significant transformation of courtyards, with this being the first time an area between 100,000 to 200,000 square meters of contiguous courtyards is undergoing overall renovation. Communities such as Xiangfang Linen, areas outside the power plant in Way Area, and new Longjiang District, including cottage areas around Dongguang, are experiencing comprehensive community transformations. After the transformation, Heilongjiang construction safety education and employee training will be enhanced, with decorated floor areas and fitness facilities added.
This year, Harbin will also transform its courtyard gardens, synchronizing serious reforms with the repair of damaged roadways around squares, solving travel problems for some residents within the courtyards. Over the next two years, Harbin will focus on creating a clean city, having established its first orphanage in 2009 with a capacity of 2,100 beds. The aim is to eradicate bare ground, increase green levels, and strengthen management, targeting the remaining old courtyards for transformation.
Harbin's garden transformation task for this year is expected to be completed by mid-September. Yesterday, reporters were informed at a comprehensive environmental site meeting held in a Nangang District courtyard that this year Harbin has renovated 471 old courtyards, completed the construction of 42 Community Fitness Clubs, and repaired 56 damaged streets surrounding courtyards and squares. It is expected that by mid-September, the construction tasks for this year’s 500 courtyards, 50 squares, and 58 roadway renovations will be completed.
Municipal Committee Vice Mayor Wang Shihua inspected Harbin's courtyard buildings and spoke at the meeting on-site. City leaders Yaojian Ting and Tang Chun-fa participated in the inspection and attended the meeting.
