Newfei Refrigerator Tips: Small refrigerator faults that users can troubleshoot on their own
Small or false faults in a refrigerator are generally ones that users can troubleshoot themselves:
(1) The compressor does not run within 48 hours of normal operation of the refrigerator.
Check the refrigeration compartment and find that it contains a large amount of frozen food, which causes the temperature to be too low. This results in the thermostat being constantly disconnected. Simply open the refrigeration compartment, remove the food, and wipe it several times with a hot towel, or place a basin of hot water inside and close the door. After some time, you will hear a click as the thermostat reconnects and the compressor starts running.
(2) The refrigerator turns on and off frequently.
Upon inspection, it is found that there is very little food stored in the refrigerator and part of the magnetic door seal is loose. Fix the magnetic door seal and store more food in the refrigerator. The refrigerator will then operate for about 9 minutes each time it is turned on and stop for about 18 minutes, returning to basic normal function.
(3) The refrigerator does not cool.
Plug in the power plug and turn the temperature controller knob, but the compressor does not start. Unplug the power cord and measure the circuit, finding an open circuit fault. Upon checking, it is discovered that the thermal protection relay contacts have burned and cannot return to the start state, causing a disconnection between the power supply and the compressor. Separate the burned contacts, smooth them with fine sandpaper, clean them with alcohol, and then test the machine. The refrigerator works normally.
(4) Starts normally in cooling mode but does not start in other modes.
Check the power circuit and find no abnormalities. Check the temperature controller and find that its control contacts have become detached. Reweld the contacts, then test the machine, and the refrigerator works normally.
(5) In summer, the temperature in the refrigeration compartment is too high, the freezer can freeze, but its temperature is much higher than normal.
This phenomenon indicates that the refrigerator's cooling efficiency is low. Check the refrigeration system for leaks (none found), then check again and find that the condenser has too much oil and dust. Clean it thoroughly, then test the machine, and the refrigerator works normally.
