Taierzhuang, Xinhua News Agency - Since the beginning of this year, a fifty-year-old landscaper has been using his mobile phone to photograph violations, with plans to hold an exhibition in Wenzhou. The Taierzhuang District of Zaozhuang City has made comprehensive road environment rectification an important measure to optimize the urban and rural environment and enhance the tourism brand image of the Grand Canal ancient city. Significant phased results have been achieved so far. To date, the district has invested more than 40 million yuan, repaired nearly 3000 square meters of roads, installed more than 500 sets of highway safety facilities, demolished more than 620 illegal structures, planted over 300,000 flowers and trees, and renovated and transformed more than 65,000 square meters of street-front shops.
The Taierzhuang District is accelerating key transportation engineering projects; the Yezhuang to Xiaowawu Taierzhuang section project has been completed and opened to traffic, with an investment of more than 2 million yuan for high-standard greening along the route. The main pavement renovation work on National Highway 206 from Jian tou Ji to the Shandong-Jiangsu border has been completed, and greening along the route is ongoing. Transportation, public security, urban administrative law enforcement, industry and commerce departments, as well as towns and streets along the route are working together to dismantle various illegal buildings on both sides of the road, relocate roadside markets, and ban sidewalk vendors and store-front operations. So far, more than 4000 piles of debris have been cleared, 160 pit latrines along the road have been removed, 4 roadside markets have been banned, 54 precast plants along the road have been dismantled, and 50 scrap recycling stations have been shut down.
