Most of the agricultural machinery business units in Yanbian Prefecture are small in scale, and most of them are husband-and-wife stores (individual businesses). Their distribution radiation capability and after-sales service capability are low. The agricultural machinery distribution points find it difficult to meet farmers' requirements for purchasing medium and large agricultural machinery tools nearby and for after-sales service. In case of agricultural machinery product quality problems, farmers basically have to take the defective agricultural machinery tools to the distribution points for repair. Most agricultural machinery distribution points conduct self-repairs for agricultural machinery products with quality problems instead of sending them to the designated repair points for repair, thus seriously infringing upon the interests of agricultural machinery consumers; Agricultural machinery repair points are unreasonably set up, and most of them are below the third level of comprehensive repair. They have backward repair equipment and instruments, old workshops, small repair sites, and uncertified on-the-job repair personnel, which create many safety hazards.
These problems have seriously affected the safe agricultural machinery production in Yanbian Prefecture and the development of rural economy. Although they have been guided, adjusted, and legally regulated by the agricultural machinery and industrial and commercial management departments, due to fund problems, agricultural machinery business units are unable to meet the needs of agricultural production and the development of rural economy, and there is an urgent need for the prefecture and various counties (cities) governments to introduce policy support that includes financial subsidies and promotes the development of agricultural machinery distribution points and agricultural machinery repair points to serve the safe agricultural production and the construction of rural economy.
