According to the news report, a woman from Zhao'an in Zhangzhou named Ms Qiu met and fell in love with a married man while working. She lent her lover 70,000 yuan out of affection. However, when Ms Qiu tried to reclaim the loan, her lover refused to return it using various excuses. Feeling both angry and helpless, she contemplated suicide, cutting her wrists. In a moment of malevolent thought, she decided to make her lover 'childless', and brutally murdered his 9-year-old son with a knife. Yesterday, the Zhao'an police revealed this tragedy caused by an extramarital affair. Currently, Ms Qiu has been criminally detained on suspicion of intentional homicide.
At around 7 am on October 31st, the 110 command center of the Zhao'an County Public Security Bureau received an emergency call. The female caller claimed that she had killed the 9-year-old son of Mr Shen at his home in Taiping Town with a kitchen knife.
The murder occurred in a three-story building. When the police arrived at the scene, they found a woman with bleeding wrists, holding a boy wrapped in bedding who had no signs of life. After being bandaged and treated, the woman identified herself as surnamed Qiu, from Xiashe Town, and admitted to killing the boy.
Ms Qiu confessed that she had come to Mr Shen's house to reclaim a 70,000-yuan loan. At the time, Mr Shen was not at home; only his wife and child were there. It wasn't until around 3 am that Mr Shen returned home. Initially, he insisted that he did not owe any money, then changed his story, claiming that the money was a repayment of Ms Qiu's debt to him. Faced with his twisted arguments, Ms Qiu became extremely angry and determined to not leave until she retrieved her money. She rested in a room on the third floor of the Shen household.
Unexpectedly, as dawn approached, Mr Shen took the opportunity to leave on his motorcycle, and his wife also left. Feeling utterly heartbroken, Ms Qiu decided to die at the Shen residence. She grabbed a kitchen knife, cut her wrists, and lay down waiting to die. Suddenly, she felt dissatisfied: "Mr Shen owes me money, and if I die, he won't suffer any loss. No, I must retaliate, I must make him childless." Subsequently, Ms Qiu went to the second-floor bedroom where Mr Shen's son was sleeping, climbed onto the bed, closed her eyes, and wildly slashed at the sleeping child without knowing how many times. After the slashing, she covered the child with a blanket and returned to the third-floor room.
After venting her anger, Ms Qiu realized that Mr Shen's son was innocent, so she woke up Mr Shen's older daughter in another room on the third floor, asking her to call for help to save her younger brother. Then, Ms Qiu called her husband who was working far away in Guangzhou, telling him that she had committed murder and asking him to take good care of their two children. Finally, she dialed the 110 emergency number to report herself.
Just for 70,000 yuan, how could Ms Qiu, as a mother of two children, ruthlessly kill a 9-year-old boy?
During the investigation, the handling police officer uncovered the ambiguous relationship between Ms Qiu and Mr Shen. In 2005, while working in Jinjiang, Ms Qiu met Mr Shen, and their relationship gradually developed into a romantic affair. Since July this year, Mr Shen had borrowed money multiple times from Ms Qiu under the pretense of doing business, lending money to friends, and entertaining clients. For the sake of this "deep and passionate" romance, Ms Qiu transferred 70,000 yuan to Mr Shen four times through the bank. Not long before the incident, Ms Qiu's husband discovered the missing money. Only then did she urgently seek Mr Shen to reclaim the money.
