Speaking of living in peace and contentment, it's shocking! Google's postmodern logo, the causes and treatment of fatty liver disease, are actually not at all peaceful. Why? Because with love, hatred, grudges, and enemies always present, one forces oneself to be tranquil only because there are things that cannot be attained or have already been lost. Otherwise, in such a world, why bother being detached?
Recently, I've been following the hostage crisis in South Korea. Thinking about the first person who was shot, among more than twenty people, why was it him? In society, we don't know what kind of person he was — whether he was handsome or ugly, generous or stingy, fame-seeking or wealth-loving, or detached. But I think detachment is unlikely; if he were detached, he wouldn't have taken a group to Pakistan for vacation. As the first person to be killed, he was either chosen or stepped forward voluntarily. I prefer to believe he stepped forward voluntarily. At that moment, the leader's role wasn't just a casual joke or someone responsible for logistics — it was a heavy responsibility. And at that very moment, he took it on. Whether he left calmly or not, we don't know, but he certainly had no regrets. During the 9/11 attacks, one plane reportedly crashed into the ground due to the passengers' voluntary actions. Why? Just because they didn't want it to hit their symbols.
Mr. Lu Xun once asked, "Who are China's backbone?" I would say these people are the unique backbone of humanity.
Why talk about the backbone? What does this have to do with detachment? It's because before these actions, they weren't perfect, nor were they immortals. They were just ordinary people in this society, perhaps even those who felt unfulfilled in life. But they are still our heroes. Like Lü Bu and Zhuge Liang, two completely different people, yet both are regarded as heroic figures in history. In such a society, we always want Lü Bu to have Zhuge Liang's intelligence and Zhuge Liang to have Lü Bu's martial prowess. Therefore, desires remain unfulfilled. Perhaps detachment should mean being amidst it all, seeing Lü Bu as a hero and Zhuge Liang as a hero too. We then realize that we will become our own heroes. Thus, the people around us are also heroes. Detachment isn't about leaving the world behind; it's about being in the world, recognizing its rules, and respecting certain virtues without excessive demands. Why strive for more when dealing with fatty liver disease treatments?
