Business News (Reported by Hongwei Wang, Communicated by Yongli Jing and Detao Wei): A thief was caught and presented a fake ID, claiming his name to be Wu Xiaojun. During the trial, the judge uncovered some suspicious points: "Wu Xiaojun's" real name is Liu Kongchun, who had been wanted for embezzling 600,000 yuan.
Yesterday, this case of "grafting" was concluded in the first instance at Xinxiang County Court. The defendant, Liu Kongchun, was found guilty of embezzlement and sentenced to 11 years in prison, with political rights deprived for one year. Combined with the previous sentence for theft, it was decided to serve a total of 15 years in prison, with political rights deprived for one year, and a fine of 20,000 yuan.
Liu Kongchun used to work at a savings office of an Agricultural Bank branch in Songyuan City, Jilin Province, serving as director, cash teller, and computer operator. In 2000, after losing over ten thousand yuan in business, he took a dangerous risk and embezzled 600,000 yuan from the company. Knowing that he had committed a crime, in order to evade punishment, he obtained a fake ID under the name of Wu Xiaojun and fled the area. He was later wanted by the police after the case broke out.
In 2002, he arrived in Puyang City, Henan Province, and started doing "theft business" under the name of Wu Xiaojun. In August 2008, Liu's theft was exposed, but he did not reveal his true identity. As a result, the Xinxiang County Court legally sentenced "Wu Xiaojun" for theft, sentencing him to five years in prison and a fine of 20,000 yuan. During the trial process, the presiding judge discovered some suspicious points.
