Sichuan News Network, Chengdu, September 25th (reporter Liu Xia, by Zhong Weicong) - On September 25th, it was reported that a villager from Anbian Town in Yibin County named Mu had suspected another villager Zou of having an improper relationship with his former girlfriend. This suspicion led to an argument between the two during a drinking session, and in retaliation, Mu killed Zou. Recently, Mu was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve by the Intermediate People's Court of Yibin City.
It is understood that Mu harbored resentment against Zou due to suspicions that his ex-girlfriend Zheng, who had been away from home for many years, had an inappropriate relationship with Zou. At around 9 p.m. on January 2nd this year, while drinking in Zou’s living room, the two began arguing about this matter. Mu attempted to hit Zou with a bowl, but Zou grabbed the bowl, breaking it into two halves. Mu then used the broken pieces of the bowl to strike Zou, causing bleeding on his head and face. After being injured, Zou returned to his bedroom and sat by the bed, asking Mu to fetch water to clean the wound. Mu boiled water and brought it into the bedroom in a bucket. After cleaning his wound, Zou asked Mu to leave. However, feeling unsatisfied, Mu grabbed a wooden stick and struck Zou’s head several times, causing Zou to fall onto the bed and die instantly.
Upon realizing Zou’s death, Mu stole a few chickens from Zou’s home before fleeing the scene. The next day, Mu was arrested by the police at Yang's house in Lian Village, Loudong Township, Pingshan County.
