On the 4th, officers from the Nanan Anti-drug Detachment were counting guns and drugs. Report by Zhang Jinqi.

Report by Du Hai and intern reporter Liao Shuyuan: The tactic of "a cunning rabbit has three dens" was used perfectly by a 35-year-old drug dealer surnamed Xiong. He rented three apartments in a community in Yubei District, using one downstairs for hiding drugs, one upstairs for his henchmen to live in and deal drugs, and another as a backup. Despite Xiong's confidence in his flawless operation, he was still caught by the police.

Yesterday, the Municipal Public Security Bureau's Anti-drug Corps announced the details of the investigation into this major cross-provincial drug trafficking case.

The drug trafficking gang was divided into five layers.

In April this year, the Nanan police received a citizen's report: A Chongqing native surnamed Xiong had gathered a group of unemployed people, forming a gang that was heavily involved in drug trafficking in Chongqing, with operations extending to Shandong, Jiangsu, Yunnan, and other places.

Due to the seriousness of the case, the Municipal Public Security Bureau's Anti-drug Corps and the Nanan Branch Anti-drug Detachment formed a joint special investigation team for the investigation. Soon, information about Xiong and the gang members came to light. The 35-year-old Xiong is from Yuzhong District, unemployed, with a history of drug use, having been involved in drug trafficking for many years, and previously dealt with by the police.

Xiong's drug trafficking gang was divided into five layers, making it the largest anti-drug gang dismantled by the police in recent years in terms of membership, division of labor, and coverage area. "During the investigation, we found that Xiong would get goods from his supplier and have his subordinates deliver them to 'retailers' in other places, who would then sell them to drug users," an officer explained.

Unlucky at card games, often losing 100,000 yuan

By July 3rd, the special investigation team learned that a core member of Xiong's gang, surnamed Huang, had sent 1 kilogram of methamphetamine to Qingdao, Shandong via logistics.

The police rushed to Shandong and, with the support and cooperation of the Qingdao police, arrested four people including Hu on July 9th at a logistics company in the Fang district of Qingdao, seizing 1005 grams of methamphetamine on the spot. The police also found two imitation handguns and 5 bullets at one suspect's residence.

While some police officers were setting up nets in Qingdao, others continued to intensify their investigation and surveillance of the Chongqing drug dealers.

With lost contact with the Qingdao side, Xiong became worried and almost stopped going to entertainment venues. His luck at the card table was also not good, and losing 100,000 yuan in a single game was common, but the drug transactions conducted by his subordinates continued.

Xiong was extremely cautious, never directly touching large quantities of drugs, even having the drug money transferred to bank accounts of trusted subordinates. To facilitate drug trafficking, Xiong rented three apartments in a mid-to-high-end residential area in Yubei District at a monthly rent of more than 1,000 yuan each. Two of these apartments were in the same building, with apartment No. 7 on the 6th floor used for storing drugs and guarded by dedicated personnel; apartment No. 3 on the 9th floor was used for his henchmen to live in and conduct drug transactions. Another apartment in a different building remained vacant, while Xiong himself rented a place in Nanan.

Catching seven like catching turtles in a jar

On the afternoon of July 19th, when the time was ripe, the special investigation team acted, launching simultaneous raids on five drug storage points. At around 2 PM that day, the police learned that Xiong had appeared in a residential area in Jiangbei. By 9 PM, Xiong and two others were caught when they opened the door to go out, and 960,000 yuan in drug money was seized from a safe.

At the same time, in a certain residential area in Yubei where Xiong rented an apartment, the police raided apartment No. 7 on the 6th floor used for storing drugs, seizing 1342 grams of methamphetamine, 584.5 grams of MDMA (commonly known as "Ma Gu"), and 3773.5 grams of ketamine.

"What are you going to do?" A medium-sized drug dealer resisted when captured, trying to shout loudly to warn his companions upstairs. But he didn't know that one of his companions on the 9th floor, apartment No. 3, had already been controlled by the police. When three police officers were searching apartment No. 3 on the 9th floor, there was a knock on the door. Through the peephole, they saw four men outside, netease blog2.

"They might be coming to buy drugs," the three police officers judged, so they opened the door slightly, allowing only one person to enter at a time. As soon as someone entered, the police would press them down, controlling all four drug buyers.

Ten minutes later, the knocking sound came again, and three more men came to buy drugs. The police similarly caught them like fish in a barrel. "As each person entered, we pressed them down on the ground, making them put their hands on their heads. They had no idea how many police officers were inside. If they realized there were only three police officers, they might have resisted," said the special investigation team officer. When these people were taken away from the residential area, the security guard downstairs said, "Finally, these people got what they deserved."

Subsequently, the police found 445.5 grams of methamphetamine and 292.5 grams of MDMA in apartment No. 3 on the 9th floor, confiscating over 260,000 yuan in drug money.

Meanwhile, the special investigation team arrested six suspects including Li and Huang in Nanan. With the assistance of the police in Wuxi, Jiangsu, another gang member Xu was arrested in Wuxi, seizing 50 grams of methamphetamine.

Seized over 1.8 million yuan in drug money

The Municipal Anti-Drug Corps introduced that in this Ministry of Public Security supervised case, 23 suspects were arrested, two imitation Type 54 pistols, 5 bullets, and 7645.39 grams of drugs (including 2898.5 grams of methamphetamine, 973.39 grams of methamphetamine tablets "Ma Gu", and 3773.5 grams of ketamine) were seized, along with over 1.8 million yuan in drug money and five cars.
