Our press (reported by Long Kun) - On October 24, a Henan girl Jiang Yan (a pseudonym) went to Longsheng Clinic in Longgang District (hereinafter referred to as the clinic) for treatment. The doctor diagnosed her with cervical erosion and prescribed some drugs that are forbidden for pregnant women. On December 1, Jiang Yan visited the Longgang Central Hospital again and claimed that she was shocked by the diagnosis of this hospital. "The hospital said I am nine weeks pregnant. The banned drugs I have taken may affect the development of my baby."
On December 5, Jiang Yan and her fellow townspeople confronted the Longsheng Clinic, but they failed to reach an agreement with the hospital side. The person in charge of the clinic stated that a color ultrasound had been performed on her before the treatment, and no pregnancy was detected, proving that Jiang Yan was not pregnant when she came for treatment. All diagnostic materials were submitted to the Longgang Health Supervision Institute yesterday, and the Longgang Health Supervision Institute has started investigating this matter.
Pregnant woman: Helpless to save the fetus
Because she hadn't menstruated for 45 days, Jiang Yan went to Longsheng Clinic for a check-up on October 24. The color ultrasound results showed, "the endometrium is thickened, with inflammation, pelvic effusion." Jiang Yan said that the doctor told her that she had third-degree cervical erosion. She also received intravenous drips at the outpatient department for a week and took a large amount of medicine, spending a total of 3028 yuan. Afterwards, Jiang Yan still didn't have her period, and the doctor at the outpatient department asked her to continue receiving treatment, but she never returned for treatment again.
On December 1, Jiang Yan went to Longgang Central Hospital for a re-examination. The B-ultrasound examination report showed, "about 9 weeks pregnant, an embryo and fetal heartbeat can be seen inside," "early intrauterine pregnancy, embryo alive." At that time, the doctor asked Jiang Yan what medications she had taken recently, and Jiang Yan listed them all, but it turned out that these medications were all forbidden for pregnant women. On the instructions for use of the two medicines used by Jiang Yan, "Shaofu Zhu Yu Granules" and "Fuyan Tai Granules", it was clearly written that they are "forbidden for pregnant women."
Jiang Yan said that the doctor from Longgang Central Hospital told her that the banned drugs she had taken would affect the development of the fetus and suggested aborting the fetus. "In my heart, I want this child, but I don't know what to do if there's something wrong with the child." These days, Jiang Yan followed her husband to Longsheng Clinic to ask questions. Jiang Yan said: "Later, they let me give birth to the child, and if there's something wrong with the child, they will compensate us." For this reason, the clinic agreed to return all medical expenses and promised to provide free abortion services, but Jiang Yan and her husband refused.
Clinic: Confirmed that she was not pregnant before treatment
Director Lin of Longsheng Clinic told reporters that the doctor reminded Jiang Yan before the surgery that if she was pregnant, the surgery would be risky. Moreover, more importantly, the clinic had already conducted an early pregnancy test on her, confirming that there was no fetus in her abdomen. Director Lin said that the prescription was issued after confirming that she wasn't pregnant, "If we confirmed that she was pregnant, we wouldn't prescribe any medication. This is basic medical knowledge."
Director Lin said that on December 5, Jiang Yan and her fellow townspeople slammed the table in front of him at the hospital and demanded exorbitant compensation, which the hospital couldn't accept. One of Jiang Yan's fellow townspeople pointed his finger at Director Lin and said, "Does your clinic even want to stay open!" Director Lin believed that, "We have the Health Supervision Institute above us, and problems can be solved through proper channels." In response to Jiang Yan's and others' extreme behavior, the clinic reported the incident to the police that day, leaving no room for negotiation. Director Lin said: "There is a time difference between the time the patient came to our place for diagnosis and the time she was nine weeks pregnant. We can confirm that she was not pregnant at that time."
The clinic has already handed over all of Jiang Yan's diagnostic receipts to the Longgang Health Supervision Institute. Yesterday, the Longgang Health Supervision Institute has intervened in the investigation.
