I said (Han Dapeng, Mu Yi) that in the early hours of yesterday morning, in the first floor shopping area of Langfa Yifa Shopping Mall in Daxing District, a masked man moved several surveillance cameras upward before stealing goods from multiple counters. Subsequently, the man broke into a jewelry counter's safe and stole jewelry worth over one million yuan. Currently, the Daxing police have joined the investigation.

Before stealing, he moved the surveillance devices.

Yifa Shopping Mall has three floors, with the third floor being an internet cafe, the second floor a sales area, and the first floor's northern area a supermarket while the southern area is a shopping zone containing multiple counters, including electrical appliances, glasses, and cosmetics counters. The stolen jewelry counter is located in this southern area.

By noon yesterday, all six entrances to the shopping mall had been closed, and a notice posted by the mall read "Inventory today, temporarily not in business." According to internal staff, the mall employees were originally scheduled to start work at 8 am. At 8 am, security personnel were stationed at the jewelry counter area, prohibiting others from entering or exiting. Subsequently, the entire first floor ceased operations. Half an hour later, more than ten police cars arrived, and the police entered the first floor for investigation.

"At first, I was afraid that the store clerks would steal things, so I installed four surveillance cameras in the corners of the counters," said the owner of the first floor electrical appliances counter. After the incident, the police retrieved the surveillance footage, and everyone was shocked to find that three of the four cameras had been moved, only able to capture the ceiling, with only one camera capturing the incident. It was evident that the thief had moved the cameras before committing the crime.

The owner said that the electrical appliances counter was about 10 meters away from the jewelry counter. The surveillance showed that at 1:24 am yesterday, a man wearing a stocking on his head and with a robust figure appeared in the lens. After lingering in the shopping area for a long time, the man entered the cosmetics counter, skillfully opened the drawers, and took some items. He then took some items from the drawers of the glasses counter.

After finding the owners of the cosmetics and glasses counters, both owners stated that they were missing a few hundred yuan, but no other items were stolen.

The supermarket provided tools.

The owner of the electrical appliances counter said that according to the surveillance, around 1:33 am, the man walked towards the jewelry counter. Instead of opening the glass cabinet, he pried open the safe underneath. Due to the distance, the man's figure in the video was slightly blurry. A few minutes later, the man suddenly stood up and walked into the supermarket on the northern part of the first floor. Immediately after, the man returned to the counter holding a tool. "The video is quite blurry, but it's certain that he was holding something, approximately half a meter long."

The boss said that the man spent half an hour working on the safe before standing up and quickly disappearing from the lens.

Other merchants in the shopping area also stated that they all had installed cameras, and most of the cameras had been moved upwards. Few cameras captured the crime process. Currently, the police have retrieved all the data. Merchants who have seen the surveillance footage claimed that the man initially couldn't open the safe, so he searched for tools inside the supermarket to pry it open.

Jewelry theft exceeds one million yuan.

An office staff member of the mall revealed that one of the mall doors was forced open, and the man may have escaped through that door. Currently, the forced door lock has been replaced.

Yesterday afternoon, the owner of the jewelry counter was taken away by the police for investigation. Some merchants said that this owner was the only jewelry merchant in the mall, and the counter had been rented for five years. An insider disclosed that the value of the stolen jewelry exceeded one million yuan, including gold, silver, and jade bracelets.

Last night, the Daxing police stated that at 8:11 am, the Daxing branch received a report that some jewelry was stolen from the Yifa Shopping Mall. Currently, the police have retrieved the surveillance data, but some of the video materials are unclear. On-site investigation and interviews are still ongoing, and the exact amount of loss is still being verified.

Mall security questioned.

Merchants said that there were security patrols at night in the mall, and the suspect committed the crime for nearly an hour. If the security personnel had discovered it in time, the suspect definitely wouldn't have escaped. In response to this, a mall official said that first, after customers leave, the security personnel inspect every corner, so the suspect wouldn't be lurking inside the mall. Secondly, there are security personnel on duty on each floor of the mall at night. The security personnel on the first floor are currently under investigation, and the mall will take action against them afterward. The police have already taken statements from multiple internal personnel. The suspect has yet to be identified, and the mall will fully cooperate with the public security department in investigating this matter.
