Guan Ying: True to herself and sexy
The first time I saw her, Guan Ying was chasing after Tony Leung on the big screen with all her might. Even though the heart of the handsome man wasn't in her, her persistence was so commendable that it made people applaud.
When we meet her again, she has just finished filming a ghost movie. Every night after working late, the security guard would compliment her: "You were really loud last night!" Then she transformed into a love-crazed, foolish girl who swallowed pills in an attempt to change herself, all for the sake of fulfilling a romance.
Now, Guan Ying has stepped out from those unrestrained screen images, picked up the microphone, and started singing her own thoughts. On and off-screen, she is the unrestrained Guan Ying: free-spirited and true to herself.
After eight years of being in the industry, she finally had the chance to release an album.
"I am a very 'manly' girl. When I sit down, my legs are spread apart, I speak loudly and rudely, and I make decisions impulsively. Once I've decided, I charge forward. It's like I'm a fire sign male." Regarding her appearance, Guan Ying understands herself more clearly than others. "Perhaps in work, others may think I'm difficult to deal with at first because I demand these conditions, but once I agree, I will give it my all." Just like releasing an album, at the start, she half-jokingly said to her former agent, "Let's make an album, it'll be quite challenging!" However, when everything came together smoothly, Guan Ying fully committed herself, taking it seriously.
"Acting and singing are two different feelings, neither of which is easy. Singing might be a little harder. Acting can rely on the supporting actor, sound effects, visuals, etc., to reach the realm required by the script, but in the recording studio, you're all alone, and it's very cruel. Because your throat is very sensitive and cannot deceive, the emotional expression of every word is crucial, and in the recording studio, everything is heard crystal clear." She didn't have a casual attitude; instead, she began learning from scratch. "Singing isn't about screaming in a KTV. You need to be in excellent physical condition to produce a good voice, and you also need to balance emotions, volume, breathy voice, saliva sounds, and other details." In a certain sense, recording an album is also the beginning of another field in her life. "People might not believe this, but when I first entered the industry, I was signed as a singer by a record company. But for some reason, I never released an album. After eight years in the industry, I finally had the opportunity to release one, so I jokingly say this album took eight years to prepare! I feel very happy!"
