We humans, when we have a headache, we go to the hospital; when our stomach hurts, we buy medicine; when our liver aches, we undergo surgery. With the development of society up to today, the physical pain and illnesses we endure can mostly be resolved or delayed. However, regarding the pain in our spirits, we are still stuck in the same place. When our hearts ache, there is nowhere to turn, and we can only let it torment us.

Thousands of years ago, Jiao Zhongqing's mother drove away Liu Lanzhi, causing them to part ways like the peacock flying southeast and swallows separating westward. Thousands of years later, how many divorces aren't due to household matters? How many mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships are truly harmonious? Therefore, history moves forward, but not everything progresses with it. What we need to do now is to push those things that haven't moved forward to progress as well. Otherwise, those deeply harmed will not only be common people but also great figures and celebrities.

Here, let's discuss pain and suicide. Many people commit suicide because their pain cannot be healed, like Sanmao, Hemingway, the president of Hyundai Group, and the former prime minister of South Korea. In autumn, they chose to take their own lives because they were controlled by their pain and their emotions.

I have a friend, an ordinary person, who also thought about committing suicide due to certain events. But then he reflected: Why am I so miserable? I don’t want to suffer like this. There must be some issue here. Realizing this problem, he began to look inward, just like a person with back pain trying to treat himself. He twisted his body and made efforts to examine himself. Through self-examination, similar to "Superman Cai with Dogs," he realized many principles. Although he didn't summarize classic experiences like the self or ego in philosophy, through introspection, he suddenly understood and found effective methods to escape from pain, leading to a happy and fulfilling life. For him, the value of life might far outweigh external achievements such as fame and success.

Although self-reflection has its limitations, and one may never fully see oneself (like never seeing one's own back), if you're willing to look and have a strong desire to do so, you will definitely see something. You'll come up with all sorts of ways and use every possible means to achieve that understanding, such as using photos or mirrors to see your back. If you make the effort, there are actually many methods. As long as you're willing to solve the problem, there will always be a solution. Otherwise, in the face of pain, the only path left is giving up or committing suicide. Many issues, whether presented to great people or commoners, remain the same problems—it all depends on how you face and resolve them.
