Super Pickled Vegetable IV: Pickled Vegetable Becomes a Monk
Since the last beating they gave to the pickled vegetable, the spiders have been keeping an eye on him. Every now and then, they would make him bring delicious food from home for them. If the pickled vegetable didn't bring any, they would ambush and beat him on his way to school. Afraid that Aunt Mabo would worry, he didn't tell her anything but quietly took all the good food from home and gave it to the spiders. Meanwhile, the pickled vegetable started secretly practicing martial arts.
Seeing the spiders benefiting from bullying him, the ants also came to threaten the pickled vegetable, demanding respect and benefits. Extremely angry, the pickled vegetable, who had never hit anyone before, suddenly lashed out one day, venting all his frustration on the ants, breaking one of their legs.
Realizing the trouble he had caused, the pickled vegetable decided not to go to school or return home. He went straight to Shaolin Temple, determined to learn some skills since this was no longer about being successful or not.
Upon arriving at the Shaolin Temple, the pickled vegetable knocked on the temple door. A little monk came out, bowed, and asked, "Which temple are you from?" This question left the pickled vegetable confused. Touching his bald head, he replied, "I'm from school, I want to become a monk. I haven't been to any temple." The monk then asked why his head was bald, to which the pickled vegetable replied, "It's natural." The little monk realized that this was predestined by Buddha and led him inside.
The master looked at him and said, "Your head doesn't need shaving; it's quite convenient with so many bumps, perfect for practicing Iron Head Kung Fu," and thus accepted him.
The pickled vegetable practiced very hard. Since starting the Iron Head Kung Fu training, he stopped treating his head as a head and instead treated it like a ball or even as a spider's head, colliding with full force. As a result, several trees within the Shaolin Temple were broken by him.
One day, a cow wandered into the front of the Shaolin Temple and ate all the cabbages planted there. Seeing this, the pickled vegetable became furious and rammed the cow. Not backing down, the cow charged at him too. They butted heads back and forth for several rounds. Suddenly, the pickled vegetable exerted all his strength and threw the cow onto a tree branch. Sitting on the branch, the cow mooed and cried, "Master Pickled Vegetable, please let me down. I will never steal the cabbages from the Shaolin Temple again."
Seeing that the pickled vegetable had reached perfection in his Iron Head Kung Fu, the master said, "Pickled Vegetable, your training is complete. You may return home." So, the pickled vegetable returned home.
Upon returning, the pickled vegetable found his family even poorer than before, and Aunt Mabo looked much older. After he left, the ants had come to the house demanding compensation, leaving Aunt Mabo with nothing.
Heartbroken for his mother, the pickled vegetable worked hard to earn money. Gradually, the family situation improved. Because of his abilities, not only did no one dare to bully him anymore, but people constantly sought his help. Hearing about the pickled vegetable's new skills, the spiders feared retaliation and specially invited him for a drink, wanting to befriend him. Seeing her son become a capable person filled Aunt Mabo with happiness.
