From August 20th to September 30th, the Kunming Dianchi National Tourist Resort will enter a 40-day intensive period for addressing illegal extensions and disorderly constructions, aiming to achieve zero reported violations of unauthorized constructions before the National Day holiday. This means that by the end of September, more than 1,310 households of illegal buildings, mainly villas, covering a total area of 35,000 square meters, will be completely demolished. Such efforts have been described as the largest scale and most concentrated demolition action in Kunming.
The整治efforts in the Dianchi Resort Area involve 48 high-end communities, mainly villa zones. Therefore, the focus of the 40-day campaign will be concentrated here. Moving forward, the resort area will carry out forced demolitions daily, targeting owners who refuse to dismantle their properties after receiving demolition notices.
On August 22nd, Zhang Jie, Assistant Director of the Dianchi National Tourist Resort Management Committee, called on the media to expose owners who act unreasonably, helping the resort area eliminate "overgrown" villas.
