First Comfort: What matters most is the heart of today;
Why lose your present mood for painful regrets, why worry unnecessarily and be in constant fear. The past can never be relived, no matter how much you regret it, it will be useless. The future is always out of reach, no matter how much you worry, it will only bring about empty sorrow. Today's heart, today's affairs, and the people of now are real and tangible, also feeling pleasant. Of course, past experiences should be summarized, and future risks should be prevented. This is wisdom.
Yesterday has passed, tomorrow has not yet come, today is real.
Second Comfort: Your own heartache can only be healed by yourself;
Why lose your present mood for painful regrets. Occasionally venting frustration is necessary, but endless complaints will only add to troubles and show others your incompetence. Complaining is a fatal negative mindset. Once complaining becomes a habit, life will become dark without light, not only losing your good mood, but also making others suffer.
Complaining has no benefit, optimism is the most important.
Third Comfort: A good mood is created by oneself;
We often cannot change other people's opinions, what we can change is ourselves. A bad life does not depend on other people's sins, but on our own deteriorating moods. The key to improving life does not lie in others' hands, abandon our resentment and sighs, and a better life will be within easy reach. We may subjectively want to live well, but objectively we do not have a good life, the reason being that we always wait for others to improve our lives,
Do not expect to change others, be the master of your own life.
Fourth Comfort: Focus on doing what you should do;
Life is so short, who has time to waste? A wise philosopher once said: If someone scolds me on the street, I won't even turn my head, I don't even want to know this boring person!" We should neither hurt others nor be swayed by their criticism, but rather follow our own wishes and focus on learning skills first.
Especially during youth, one must fully concentrate on learning skills, without distractions.
Fifth Comfort: Don't always make things difficult for yourself;
Learn to appreciate yourself, which is equivalent to possessing the golden key to happiness. Appreciating oneself is not self-admiration, it's not arrogance, it's not self-intoxication, and it's certainly not being stuck in one’s ways... Give yourself some positive messages, give yourself some joy, give yourself a smile, and how could there be a lack of happiness in life?
Regularly celebrate yourself, learn to seek joy.
Sixth Comfort: Do not chase after worldly honors;
A lifetime spent seeking recognition from others will forever cost you your own happiness and joy. Vulgar criticisms will extinguish your individuality, and conventional advice will leave you at a loss. Chasing money for its own sake will alienate you from your loved ones, chasing power for its own sake will lead you to reckless behavior, and chasing fame for its own sake will drive you to unethical actions. In deliberately pursuing these worldly goals, the true self will fragment into pieces scattered by the wind, and the worldly self will become detestable.
By gaining popularity, you lose authenticity; remain resolute, stay true to yourself.
Seventh Comfort: Extremes are undesirable;
Some people often fall into mental illness due to excessive worry, while others become indifferent to everything because of numbness. The former often suffer in search of rationality, becoming overly clever to the point of decay, the root of stupidity lies in regretting everything. The latter do not know what regret is, living in confusion day by day, with no difference between living and dying.
Going to extremes always ends in failure, seek the wisdom of life.
Eighth Comfort: Do not overly concern yourself with others' evaluations;
There is no painting that is not critiqued by others, no person that is not commented on by others. If you remain silent, someone will accuse you of being "too calculating"; if you're a good conversationalist, someone will accuse you of talking too much; if you praise others, someone will accuse you of having ulterior motives; if you kindly criticize, someone will explode, thinking you're meddling.
If you only look at others' faces, how can you live? Have self-possession, yet not be confined by it.
Ninth Comfort: The more evil thoughts, the deeper the pain;
Why can't we live peacefully? The key is failing to timely drive away the demons within us. Because of harboring evil thoughts and persisting ..., we fail to rationally restrain ourselves, often committing foolish acts we later regret. Because of not promptly cleaning the dust from our hearts, those with weak willpower frequently fall into deep pits. Because of frequent bewilderment, we allow ignorance to blind our eyes, entering the wrong path unknowingly.
With evil in the heart, peace of mind is lost; remove evil thoughts.
Tenth Comfort: Be mindful not to live too burdened, your wife's lover's space is open! Recruits wanted!!
Many people lament, living is truly exhausting. Exhaustion comes from great mental pressure; exhaustion comes from heavy psychological burdens. Exhaustion is relative, wanting to avoid exhaustion means learning to relax, life values balance between tension and relaxation. Mental fatigue leads to prolonged sub-health states; mental fatigue causes lethargy.
Don't let your heart bear too much, learn to free yourself.
Eleventh Comfort: Everyone has their own way of living;
One's own pain is clear, one's own grievances are understood, one's own happiness is felt. Perhaps what seems like hell to oneself is paradise to another, perhaps what seems like paradise to oneself, arranging travel photos and videos is not easy, is hell to another. Life is such an irony, don't always suspect that happiness belongs to others, the key lies in adjusting one's own mindset. Living well one's own life is most important, no comparing, no competing.
Twelfth Comfort: Do not be a slave to desires;
People always sigh "Moths drawn to flames," people always mock "Fish biting the bait," people always laugh at "Falling into a trap." But if one carefully considers, in our surroundings, are such tragedies caused by desire few? Greedy hearts lead to snakes swallowing elephants. Those who indulge their souls ultimately lose true freedom! One must always be vigilant against unhealthy desires.
Thirteenth Comfort: Live easily and happily;
Not blindly comparing with others brings ease, setting life goals not too high brings constant joy, not deliberately pursuing perfection keeps one far from suffering, not constantly demanding of oneself brings freedom, not nitpicking brings ease.
Living too burdened brings unbearable pain, contentment brings lasting joy!
Fourteenth Comfort: Love yourself to embrace life;
Blindly overconfident pride leads to an ignorant life, consistently giving up on oneself leads to a pessimistic and passive life. Understanding oneself is harder than understanding others, liking oneself is less easy than liking others. Possessing a healthy and appropriate sense of self-respect makes one exceptionally strong in the face of adversity. Not being tempted by external allurements prevents losing oneself, not negating oneself due to temporary setbacks keeps one objective and calm in evaluating oneself, optimistic and affirming in appreciating oneself.
Fifteenth Comfort: Look at the world through kind eyes;
Crystal-clear water holds no fish, overly critical people hold no friends. Everywhere unable to tolerate others' flaws turns everyone into villains, making peaceful coexistence impossible. Seeing the world through a malevolent lens makes nowhere seem intact; seeing the world through a benevolent lens finds charm everywhere. Focusing on others' strengths makes them appear ever more endearing.
Sixteenth Comfort: It's unnecessary to always please others;
Pleasing everyone is impossible and unnecessary, pleasing everyone equals offending everyone, deliberately trying to please others makes them dislike you, getting close to others should be natural, speculative attitudes need changing, if there's time to flatter, it's better to work hard sincerely, pleasing others is unreliable, personal effort is solid.
Constantly trying to please others leads to losing oneself, self-improvement is crucial.
Seventeenth Comfort: When things are done, go with the flow;
Once the raw rice is cooked, regretting previous actions serves no purpose. The only wise action is figuring out how to properly handle subsequent matters, avoiding making things worse. Water splashed out cannot be retrieved, wood carved into boats cannot revert to its original state. Knowing these simple truths allows one to calmly address remaining issues. Regret serves no purpose, avoid worsening situations.
Eighteenth Comfort: Though materially poor, psychologically rich;
Material poverty is not frightening, psychological poverty is. Poverty often accompanies despair, being poor often correlates with low aspirations. Psychological poverty can reduce wealth to destitution, psychological richness can transform poverty into affluence. Material poverty combined with utter hopelessness quickly ruins one's health, confidence and perseverance, though temporarily materially poor, better days will soon arrive.
Be poor but ambitious, strive ceaselessly.
Nineteenth Comfort: Blessings contain misfortunes, misfortunes contain blessings;
Don't let temporary gains or losses cloud your judgment, indulging in fleeting victories. Always think ahead while safe, never become arrogant. Indulgence in victory implies stagnation, indulgence in victory means losing vigilance. On the journey of life, never slacken. Victory is merely a small milestone. To achieve ultimate success, keep striving, strive harder.
Don't be deceived by temporary gains, whoever laughs last, laughs best.
Twentieth Comfort: What matters is living abundantly;
Living each day well is the greatest happiness, joy stems from daily feelings of satisfaction. Constantly worrying about tomorrow's risks, constantly erasing yesterday's shadows, how can today's life be satisfying? Constantly comparing with the incomparable, constantly fantasizing about the unattainable, how can today's mood be serene? Anything unrealistic is the source of pain, the biggest killer of life is worry and anxiety,
Pain stems from lack of fulfillment, a fulfilling life avoids random thoughts.
Twenty-first Comfort: Joy should be moderate;
Appropriate entertainment can regulate emotions, endless joy can easily turn harmful. Extremes lead to reversals, when resources run out, changes occur. "Where there's great satisfaction, there's likely to be much trouble." "Chess can pass idle time, but easily stirs up anger." ... Unrestrained revelry signifies a shallow life, often leading to regretful pain. Moderation in enjoyment marks a broad-minded life. Excessive joy leading to sorrow isn't limited to entertainment but touches all aspects of life.
Joy and sorrow coexist, moderation in joy ensures lasting happiness.
Twenty-second Comfort: Changing your lifestyle might bring more joy;
When you feel extremely unhappy at work, surrounded by walls everywhere, is it necessary to change the environment? When you feel extremely unhappy in marriage, surrounded by ice everywhere, do you have the courage to break out of the city walls? When you've grown accustomed to accepting mistreatment, will you stand tall and say "No"? Confident and self-reliant people are adept at adjusting their life states,
Don't live too humbly, comfort is the spirit of joy.
Twenty-third Comfort: It's okay to temporarily set aside troubling matters;
Life is too short, why always live unhappily. Having worries is normal, having none is abnormal. If your mood is bad, why not watch a movie, listen to some music, sing a song, make a phone call, enjoy some sunshine...
Let troubles and worries go to hell, have fun first.
Twenty-fourth Comfort: The foundation of happiness lies within oneself;
Ordinary people usually base their happiness on external affairs, depending on societal approval, valuing status and property, as well as treatment and reputation immensely. Losing these would be a heavy blow, often leading to unbearable pain, destroying the foundations of happiness and joy. If we live this way, happiness will be very distant. Why let others evaluate the degree of our happiness, control yourself.
Twenty-fifth Comfort: Feeling happy is being happy...
Many people deliberately pursue so-called happiness; some obtain it, but at an enormous cost. Many philosophers say that happiness is a feeling. The sense of happiness decreases with satisfaction levels, closely related to one's mental state and attitude. Ancient sages say: The harder it is to gain, the deeper the love, possessing happiness, remember the difficulties. A person always feeling no happiness is their greatest sorrow.
Happiness is a feeling, dissatisfaction leads to perpetual unhappiness.
