Sina Technology News, April 29 - Just before the upcoming May Day holiday, Beijing Telecom announced the launch of a new 3G mobile phone subsidy policy with six tiers. The lowest tier at 840 yuan not only gives away a 3G mobile phone with a market retail price of 920 yuan but also provides an additional 1200 yuan in call credit, making it a unprecedented subsidy.

The gifted call credit amounts to nearly 1.5 times the package price.

It is reported that Beijing Telecom will officially introduce this new policy on April 29. Customers purchasing this package can enjoy discounts on Tianyi 3G mobile phones as well as call credit discounts, with an overall discount ratio reaching as high as 70%.

Previously, Beijing Telecom had launched multiple campaigns where prepaid call credits were exchanged for free phones with substantial subsidies. Users who prepaid a specified amount of call credit and committed to a certain monthly minimum consumption and network tenure could receive a Tianyi 3G mobile phone worth the prepaid amount, with the prepaid call credit being returned in full over several months.

This time, Beijing Telecom's subsidy is even larger. Users purchasing this package and committing to a certain monthly minimum consumption and network tenure can receive a Tianyi 3G mobile phone worth about 10% more than the package price. At the same time, the total amount of call credit returned monthly is nearly 1.5 times the package price.

The package is divided into six tiers.

It is understood that the dual-discount package launched by Beijing Telecom this time is divided into six tiers ranging from 840 yuan to 4800 yuan.

For example, for the 1800 yuan tier package, users who purchase the dual-discount package for 1800 yuan and commit to staying on the network for two years with a monthly minimum consumption of 189 yuan can receive a Samsung F339 mobile phone worth 1899 yuan. At the same time, the package includes 2640 yuan in call credit, which will be credited over 24 months at 110 yuan per month.

Another example is the lowest 840 yuan tier package. Users who purchase the dual-discount package for 840 yuan and commit to staying on the network for two years with a monthly minimum consumption of 89 yuan can receive a ZTE R201 mobile phone worth 920 yuan. At the same time, the package includes 1200 yuan in call credit, which will be credited over 24 months at 50 yuan per month.

In addition, Beijing Telecom reminds that this activity supports all postpaid packages promoted in the mass market and recommends users to subscribe to the Tianyi Business Travel package. This package is divided into four tiers: 89 yuan, 129 yuan, 189 yuan, and 289 yuan, which correspond directly to the first four tiers of the minimum consumption options, making it very convenient for daily use.

The Tianyi Business Travel package offers free nationwide incoming calls (excluding Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau), integrates long-distance, local, and roaming fees, with a minimum rate of just 0.19 yuan per minute, equivalent to local call rates. At the same time, the package includes at least 306 minutes of nationwide outgoing call time (excluding Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau).
