Turbocharge Your Slow Computer
You have tried registry cleaners, adware and spyware removal programs, defragmenters, and every system tweak trick told on the internet, but everything has failed to speed up your slow computer. Maybe it is time for a new one. Or maybe it just needs more RAM. RAM adds to a slow computer what a turbocharger adds to a gasoline engine – horsepower. When everything else fails to speed up slow computer systems, add RAM. Because no matter how clean and lean your system is, it can only provide as much horsepower as the motherboard has to offer. And that horsepower comes from the Random Access Memory (RAM) modules residing there. A common miscalculation is that computer speed is dictated exclusively by processor speed. So when the computer becomes too slow to keep up with demand, it must be that the processor is no longer fast by today’s standards. And we all know that upgrading the processor means buying a new system.
So let us check your processor, or CPU, usage right now on your Windows PC. Hold down CTRL + ALT and press DELETE. On the pop-up window, click the Task Manager tab. Your CPU usage is displayed. Is it less than 10%? 20%? 30%? Unless it is operating above 80%, it is not approaching full utilization. While the processor processes commands, it is the RAM that most often enables the speed at which those commands are executed. RAM controls how fast your computer boots, the speed with which application programs open (Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, etc.), web pages load (eBay, Amazon, Google, etc.) and content plays (YouTube Video, MP3s, etc.).
