Guiping tourism has reached a new level. Last year, the development of the city's tourism industry reached a historic high. The city received a total of 2.779 million domestic and international tourists, generating a total tourism revenue of 470 million yuan, representing year-on-year increases of 16% and 20%, respectively.
In recent years, the city has been striving to improve its tourism infrastructure. Through multiple channels for raising funds, it has focused on planning and construction of major scenic areas to enhance the quality of the tourist city. It successively invested 11.7 million yuan in constructing new facilities at Xishan Scenic Area, including the new entrance and square, Jinshui Bridge, and the九龙戏水fountain. An investment of over 20 million yuan was made for the renovation and expansion of Longhua Temple and Xishi Nunnery at Guiping Xishan. Between 30 to 50 million yuan was allocated for the construction of Ven. Kuangneng Stupa and Tea Culture Corridor. Over 10 million yuan was spent on building tourist roads, viewing pavilions, guesthouses, and swimming pools at Longtan National Forest Park. Meanwhile, through integrating tourism resources, attractions like D藤Gorge Yusi Cave, Tonggu Chong, and Jinyin潭have been developed; through attracting investment, high-end hotels such as Rushan Well Hotel and Yuyang International Grand Hotel have been newly built and put into operation. With the continuous improvement of tourism infrastructure, Guiping has gained the qualification of "National Geopark", Xishan became a national 4A-level scenic area and one of "the ten most fun places in Guangxi", Longtan National Forest Park became a national 3A-level scenic area, and Rushan Well Hotel became a 4-star tourist hotel.
The vigorous development of the tourism industry has also driven the rapid development of related industries such as transportation, commerce, telecommunications, accommodation, catering, entertainment, and real estate in the entire city. In the first three quarters of 2009, the city achieved a value-added output of 2.595 billion yuan in the tertiary industry, with a total retail sales of consumer goods reaching 3.857 billion yuan, representing year-on-year growths of 13.7% and 21.5%, respectively.

Creating distinctive tourism brands. The city has increased efforts in planning, implementation, and promotion. Activities such as the "New Year Blessing" event, Buddhist cultural tourism series activities at Xishan Scenic Area, "Guangxi People Tour Guigang" campaign, and the "Xishan Bathing Buddha Cultural Tourism Festival" have been organized. Every weekend and holiday, various ecological leisure tours, historical and cultural tours, and mountain-water scenery tours are grandly launched at each scenic spot. These colorful and distinctive tourism cultural activities continuously add vitality to the tourist attractions, catering to different levels and needs of tourists, and opening up the tourism market. During the 2009 National Day "Golden Week" alone, the number of tourists received reached 119,800 people, with a total tourism income of more than 21.6 million yuan, representing year-on-year increases of 22.29% and 22.73%, respectively.
