Qinghai develops distinctive plateau tourism
The recently convened Qinghai Province Tourism Work Conference proposed that Qinghai should start from industrial structure adjustment and transformation of development mode to promote the transition of tourism from sightseeing type to leisure and vacation type, and achieve characteristic development.
According to the introduction, last year, Qinghai tourism overcame difficulties, achieved a tourism revenue of 6.015 billion yuan, an increase of 26.6%, and exceeded the "Eleventh Five-Year" goal of more than 5 billion yuan in total tourism revenue in 2010. The tourism revenue was equivalent to 5.56% of the province's GDP, and the tourism industry showed broad development space. To promote the sustainable development of tourism, Qinghai will make the "Twelfth Five-Year" development plan for the tourism industry as one of the key plans of the whole province. Based on the creation of the "Beautiful Qinghai" tourism brand, it will focus on implementing the rural enrichment project, carry out various agricultural sightseeing and experiential tourism activities in places with conditions; under the premise of properly protecting natural ecology, original living environment and historical and cultural heritage, reasonably utilize ancient villages and towns, build distinctive landscape tourism towns and villages, and standardize the development of "farmhouse fun", leisure farms and other tourism products; continue to develop red tourism while developing ecological tourism, sports tourism, industrial tourism and other special tourism.
