Our news (reporter Zhang Li): Compared to the previously widely used high-pressure mercury lamps and sodium lamps, LED lamps have advantages such as higher energy efficiency and longer lifespan. Unfortunately, there has been no unified standard in the market. Recently, relevant departments in our province have formulated local standards for LED lamps used in road lighting, unifying the quality judgment criteria of products.

According to relevant officials from the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau, in terms of LED vehicle light applications, our province has a good foundation for developing the LED industry. By September 2009, there were more than 50 related companies within the province, especially excelling in high-power light source packaging, industry application products, and efficient energy sources, leading nationwide. However, currently, the significant bottleneck hindering the healthy development of semiconductor lighting products is the lack of a unified quality evaluation standard. Products sold on the market vary greatly in quality, with some inferior products severely damaging consumers' interests.

To address this, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology organized the drafting of the "Local Standard for LED Lamps Used in Road Lighting." This standard fills the gap of no local standard in our province's semiconductor lighting industry in the absence of national or industry-related standards. The standard sets general values, guiding midstream enterprises to standardize production. At the same time, the standard provides detailed regulations on general technical requirements, inspection methods, etc., unifying the quality judgment criteria of products, providing important technical support for upcoming major projects such as the "Ten Cities, Ten Thousand Lights Project" and the "Lighting Project," including bidding, design, and construction.
