A woman died at a hotel under suspicion of committing suicide due to gambling. A middle-aged woman fell to her death from a hotel room on the 6th floor, and the police have ruled out the possibility of foul play. The family stated that she enjoyed gambling in her lifetime, and they suspect that her fall might be related to gambling.
This Hangzhou express hotel has a total of 9 floors. The two windows of the incident room were half-open, and a police officer was taking photos through the window for evidence collection. According to Xiao Xie, an employee of a tea shop on the first floor of the hotel, around 11:00 in the morning, there was suddenly a "boom---" sound outside the store. When he ran out to check, the middle-aged woman had already fallen in a pool of blood.
The deceased's surname is Xu, from Pubei Natural Village in Anhai Qiaotou Village, and she was in her 40s. She was originally married to someone from Shenzhen, but after her husband passed away, she returned to her parents' home and worked in a factory normally.
Her cousin Mr. Xu arrived at the scene and said that Ms. Xu liked gambling before her death. Room 607 of the hotel was notorious locally as it was often used for gambling gatherings. He suspects that her death may be related to gambling.
Onlookers at the scene stated that many locals had gambled at this hotel. A middle-aged woman surnamed Xu said that the gambling spot was on the 6th floor, and she had once gone inside to watch.
In response, a person in charge from the Home Inn Hotel in Hangzhou said that the deceased was not a guest of the hotel, and there was no registration information about her. The family mentioned that Room 607, where the fall occurred, was registered under someone else's name, and it was still occupied. The hotel is unclear whether this room was involved in gambling activities.
According to the Anhai Police Station, they received the report at 11:40. Upon arriving at the hotel, they found that Room 607 was locked from the inside. After prying the door open, they discovered a pair of women's shoes inside. It was preliminarily determined that the deceased fell from Room 607, and the possibility of murder has been ruled out. The head of the station stated that they have not yet found any connection between her death and gambling.
