Resume of Xu Yuanchao
Xu Yuanchao, born in February 1951, is from Xin County, Henan Province. He previously served as the Commander of Anhui Provincial Military District and the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, as well as a member of the Nanjing Military Region Party Committee.
According to relevant information, Xu Yuanchao is the youngest son of Xu Shiyou. At the age of 16, he joined the army and has been serving in the Nanjing Military Region ever since. Over his more than 40-year military career, Xu Yuanchao has developed an inseparable bond with tanks: He was once a soldier in the independent tank regiment of the Nanjing Military Region, and later became the platoon leader, deputy company commander, and company commander of a certain tank division. After nearly two and a half years of study in the armored tactics major at the Tank Technology Academy, he was appointed as the deputy battalion commander of a certain military tank regiment. In September 1985, he became the full-regiment-level advisor of the Armored Department under the General Staff Department of the Nanjing Military Region; In March 1990, he became the deputy division commander of a certain group army's tank division, during which time he studied for a year in the basic command class of the National Defense University. In October 1992, at the age of 41, Xu Yuanchao began working in the Nanjing Military Region agency, successively serving as the deputy director of the Ordnance Supply Department of the Logistics Department, the deputy director and then director of the Technical Department of the General Staff Department, and the deputy director of the Equipment Department. At the age of 54, he started serving as the Commander of the Anhui Provincial Military District and a member of the Nanjing Military Region Party Committee, and was promoted to the rank of Major General in 2000.
