Before the second trial of Yang Jia, hundreds of people gathered outside the court early in the morning to demonstrate. They held banners to "express support" for Yang Jia. Some even shouted "Long live Yang Jia". They were all petitioners involved in other cases, hoping to take advantage of Yang Jia's second trial to go to the court and express various grievances against the government. As more and more people gathered, policemen forcibly carried them away from the court area, creating a chaotic scene.
