Touching Poem on Earthquake Relief: Mom, Don't Cry, I've Gone to Heaven

Mom, please don't cry, I've gone to heaven,

With a deafening roar that shook the earth,

I saw you fall onto the noisy playground,

Your heart-wrenching screams still ring in my ears.

Mom, please don't cry, I've gone to heaven,

The countless stars in the sky are all your tears,

I'm not alone wandering in the dark night,

My classmates join hands and sing hoarsely.

Mom, please don't cry, I've gone to heaven,

The teacher said there's no birdsong or flowers there,

So I look back with lingering attachment,

But the green mountains and rivers now seem desolate.

Mom, please don't cry, I've gone to heaven,

But I can't let go of my past dreams,

Please keep my beautiful schoolbag for me,

I hear the sister in the ruins reading aloud.

Mom, please don't cry, I've gone to heaven,

Unfortunately, I didn't wait long enough to see the green military uniform,

I wanted to finish the homework assigned by the teacher,

I am reluctant to leave the blackboard, textbooks, and classroom.

Mom, please don't cry, I've gone to heaven,

I won't be mischievous anymore and I don't want to make you sad,

I will remember your smiling face,

And in the next life, I still want to lean on your warm bosom.

Mom, please don't cry, I've gone to heaven,

As long as there is light, there is always hope,

When I open my eyes, I want to see you live strong,

Your love will forever illuminate my way...
