On the evening of May 21, 2008, the Olympic torch flame was delivered from Shanghai to Suzhou. A starting ceremony was held at 8:00 a.m. on May 22 and the torch relay began, which lasted until around 12:00 p.m.. In the afternoon, the torch was handed over to Nantong city via the Sutong Bridge.
