Comrade Li Chengyun, Vice Governor of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, said that work is being carried out intensively in all places. More than 100,000 PLA soldiers, armed police, and fire fighters, 1235 medical rescue teams, dozens of professional rescue teams, grassroots cadres throughout the province, people from all walks of life, college and middle school students in transit, and young volunteers are working day and night, doing their utmost in the battle on the front lines of earthquake relief. By 16:00 on the 15th, the earthquake in our province has already caused more than 19,500 deaths, more than 102,100 injured, and more than 12,300 buried. So far, more than 13,400 people have been rescued from the rubble.
