According to the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, under this policy, rural teachers in Zhejiang Province can receive additional teaching allowances ranging from 60 yuan to 400 yuan per month, depending on their position and years of service in rural schools, starting from January 1, 2008. Additionally, top-tier teachers in rural schools will receive an extra 500-yuan monthly teaching allowance on top of their personal teaching allowance. The rural teaching allowance is only available during the time the teacher is on duty and will no longer be provided after they are transferred away from a rural school or retire. To ensure the stable distribution of the allowance, the new policy also stipulates that the funds for implementing the rural teacher teaching allowance will be allocated by the corresponding level of finance according to the school's affiliation.
