[Global] US troops in Iraq finally return home, welcomed by families holding up signs in an incredibly warm scene

On December 12, 2011, 270 soldiers from the Fourth Brigade of the U.S. Army's First Armored Division withdrew from Iraq and returned to their base at Fort Bliss, reuniting with their loved ones. According to the Status of Forces Agreement reached between the United States and Iraq in 2008, all U.S. troops will withdraw from Iraq by the end of 2011.

According to American media reports, many family members of the soldiers held banners and waited at the airport to welcome back their loved ones. There were elderly people waiting for their sons, children waiting for their fathers, and women waiting for their husbands. The scene was very touching and heartwarming.

War takes away peace and also claims many innocent lives. Most wars are caused by rulers seeking to gain benefits. It is believed that no civilians like war, nor do soldiers like leaving their hometowns to become cruel executioners. The United States has spent several years and enormous resources to prove that the Iraq War was a mistake. Hopefully, this world hegemon will learn from its mistakes. U.S. troops stationed in Iraq have finally returned home.
