A 19-year-old male worker climbed Mount Emei in an attempt to jump off a cliff due to his disappointment with life, but fortunately, he was saved by a branch sticking out from the edge of the cliff that miraculously caught his pants.

After failing the college entrance exam, the 19-year-old Hunan native Tang Binbin joined the ranks of migrant workers. The monotonous and repetitive work, along with the low wages, made Tang Binbin feel hopeless about life. The "world-weary" him had the idea of committing suicide. Tang Binbin came to Sichuan alone from his hometown. On the afternoon of August 3, he climbed to the summit of Ten Thousand Buddhas Peak of Mount Emei with his backpack on, and then jumped down. Fortunately, a branch sticking out from the edge of the cliff caught his pants, saving his life.

Tang Binbin stood at one corner of the highest place in the Mount Emei scenic area - the 3099-meter-high Ten Thousand Buddhas Peak at around 2 p.m. on August 3. After hesitating for dozens of seconds at the edge of the cliff, he closed his eyes and jumped down.
