Today, I was shocked to hear that Walmart, the world-renowned retail giant that once ranked first in the Fortune Global 500, has recently been involved in a serious incident at its newly opened Jingdezhen branch. It is reported that a female customer was allegedly beaten to death. The incident unfolded as follows: A Walmart employee suspected a female customer of shoplifting and followed her downstairs, demanding to check her receipt. However, the woman felt that such treatment was inhumane and violated her personal privacy, so she refused to cooperate. In response, the Walmart employee reportedly resorted to physical violence. The woman immediately took out her phone to call her family for help.

Soon, the woman's parents and sister arrived at the scene. Upon seeing the Walmart employees still beating their relative, they successively knelt down and pleaded with the employees to stop the assault. However, Walmart staff continued without regard for their pleas. Eventually, the police arrived in a patrol car. With the help of her family, the injured woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. Her family later found the shopping receipt on her person. Unfortunately, due to the severity of her injuries, the woman passed away shortly after being admitted to the hospital.

Throughout this entire ordeal, Walmart remained silent, offering no explanation, no visit to the wrongfully accused customer, and no condolences to the family. When questioned, Walmart representatives merely stated they were seeking instructions from their headquarters—first from Shenzhen, then Hong Kong, and even the US headquarters.

I am astounded. Is this how a Fortune Global 500 company, a model in the service industry, treats its customers? From now on, I don't think I will shop at Walmart anymore. Their products are not cheap, and their treatment of customers, who are supposedly regarded as 'Gods,' is deplorable. Their slow and indifferent response leaves much to be desired.
