The September 18th Incident refers to the evening of September 18, 1931, when the Japanese Kwantung Army blew up a section of railway near Liutiaohu in Shenyang in northeast China, falsely accusing the Chinese army of sabotage. Using this as an excuse, they bombarded the Beidaying camp of the Chinese Northeast Army. It was a military conflict and political event deliberately orchestrated by Japan in an attempt to invade China. Based on the date the conflict erupted, it is historically known as the "September 18th Incident"... The two parties involved in the conflict were the Chinese Northeast Army and the Japanese Kwantung Army.
