Tropical Storm No. 15 "Koppu" has strengthened into a severe tropical storm. According to a report from China News Service on September 14th, the China Meteorological Administration website announced that the National Meteorological Center issued an orange typhoon emergency warning today. This year's No. 15 tropical storm "Koppu" strengthened into a severe tropical storm in the northern South China Sea this morning. At 10:00 am, its center was located about 410 kilometers southeast of Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province (latitude 19.9 degrees north, longitude 115.4 degrees east), with maximum wind force near the center reaching level 10 (25 meters per second).
It is expected that "Koppu" will move towards the northwest at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour, gradually approaching the central and western coastal areas of Guangdong. Its intensity will further strengthen, and it is expected to make landfall along the coast from Zhuhai to Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province during the night of September 14th to the morning of September 15th.
