Xinhua News Agency, Wuhan, June 16th - On the morning of June 16th, the People's Court of Badong County, Hubei Province, held a public trial for the first instance of the "Deng Yujiao case" and made a first-instance verdict.

The highly anticipated "Deng Yujiao stabs officials to death case" concluded in the first instance at the Badong County Court in Hubei. The court announced: Deng Yujiao's actions constituted intentional injury, but it was excessive self-defense. Additionally, Deng Yujiao has limited criminal responsibility and surrendered herself to the authorities, so she was exempt from punishment.

The People's Court of Badong County believed that under the circumstances of unreasonable harassment, pulling, pushing, and verbal insults by Deng GuiDa and Huang DeZhi, Deng Yujiao's counterattack had a defensive nature but exceeded the necessary limits, constituting excessive self-defense. Defendant Deng Yujiao intentionally injured someone leading to their death, which constitutes the crime of intentional injury. After the incident, Deng Yujiao voluntarily surrendered to the police and truthfully confessed her crimes, constituting self-surrender.
