Hook - Laowai also reads domestic news -

Opix.net is making its debut tonight under a new domain name Topix.com (not much difference, maybe for further development). It's a website that exclusively focuses on China, featuring all kinds of events big and small from China, perhaps even news from your hometown. Inside, you can read the news, browse information, and also voice your opinions (no registration required). If that's still not enough for you, you can simply compile and publish your own articles. But you rarely do that. Just being able to persist in reading it is already no small feat because it's in English. Without a certain level of proficiency, you wouldn't be able to participate.

I just find it puzzling why this platform is so popular. Who are its readers? Foreigners, overseas Chinese, or people from within the country? Is it merely about paying attention to China, or does it have another purpose? I don't know, nor do I want to guess.
