The first trial of the case in which a Harbin policeman killed a person was announced yesterday. Policemen Qi Xin and Liu Li Nan were sentenced to life imprisonment and 12 years' fixed-term imprisonment respectively for intentional injury. University graduate Yang Sen was sentenced to three years' fixed-term imprisonment for intentional injury. The court also ruled that Qi Xin and Liu Li Nan should compensate Lin Jili, Lu Qinghong, and Lin (a minor) for their economic losses amounting to RMB 334,534 yuan in total. The verdict showed that RMB 77,607 yuan was allocated as living expenses for Lin (a minor), the posthumous daughter of Lin Songling.
In the Harbin bar case where a policeman killed a person, the controversial issue was the RMB 70,000 yuan compensation for the maintenance of Lin Songling's posthumous daughter.
